Rainy Day

We woke up this morning to very loud thunderstorms. And it was supposed to rain all day. I feel like we have been so busy lately. So, I was glad to have a day to stay home and do whatever we wanted. I asked the kids what they would like to do. They said they wanted to stay in their pajamas, do some crafts and have a smoothie for lunch! Sounded like fun to me! We had a nice day together! Here are the kids (in their pj's) working on a craft.

Emma picked a pony, of course!

Gabe made a fire truck!

I was just happy this didn't end up on the floor!

I have been taking Gabe to speech on Tuesday and Thursdays. Last Thursday, the school was having a half price book fair. And I found this adorable cookbook! It is filled with the girliest recipes you have ever seen! Emma is so excited to try them all! But we did manage to find a smoothie recipe that wasn't too girlie for Mr. Gabe ;)

Mini-Marshmallow Smoothies

Ingredients List
1 ripe sliced banana
1 cup sliced strawberries
1/2 cup low fat milk or vanilla soy milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 bag colored miniature marshmallows

Place sliced banana and strawberries in an air-tight container in freezer 15 minutes (or longer) before making smoothie.

Combine all ingredients, except marshmallows, in blender and whirl until smooth and creamy. Stir 1/2 cup of marshmallows.

Serve in small punch cups and garnish each with a handful of marshmallows if desired.

Tip: For super-quick smoothies, keep sliced frozen fruits in airtight containers in the freezer. Just choose your fruits, add the other smoothie ingredients, and you can make instant pure fruit smoothies in a jiffy!

Gabe and Emma make a yummy smoothie!!!
