Granny and Aunt Pam come to Texas!

Granny and Aunt Pam came to Texas for a visit! We met everybody at Logan's Steakhouse for dinner. We always look forward to seeing Granny and Pam! Of course, Gabe is sleeping on me in this picture :)

After dinner, we went to see Jen and Kasey's new house. It is going to be so nice once they finish all of their painting and new carpet! We are very excited for them! I think I heard the move in date for the Martin family is Wednesday!

Dad's Birthday

We celebrated my dad's birthday this past Wednesday! Dad picked Babe's for his birthday dinner. One of our favorites!!!! We had a wonderful night celebrating dad! He is a special husband, father and grandfather. And we love you very much!!!

Aren't they cute in their yellow shirts!

Sergio and Noah

I didn't get the memo about wearing yellow. But I guess everyone else did!

Goofy girls!

Poor dad. He was such a good sport! He had to do a chicken dance while they sang happy birthday to him :)

The kids love the chairs in front of Babe's!

Pretty girl :)

We went to Jen's for cake and presents. Mom got a yummy strawberry ice cream cake from marble slab. It was soooo good!

Happy Birthday, Dad!!!!

My Dad - The CAPA Graduate

My dad retired a couple of years ago from Alpha Oil Tools, a family business he started along with his dad and brother in 1981. He and my mom have been loving retirement so far! But my dad has been praying about what type of ministry he should serve in. God recently opened the door to a program through the Fort Worth police department called CAPA (Clery And Police Alliance). The FWPD partners with local ministers. These ministers are called to comfort and minister to civilians at crime scenes and within the local jails. They also minister to the 1,400 FW police officers. I was so impressed to hear the FW police chief talk about what an influence this program has made in the community and the police force. My dad just completed a 12 week civilian police department program. We went to see his graduation this morning and I am so excited for my dad! God has gifted him in so many ways. I know God is going to use him in this ministry to reach so many people and show them God's love in situations where they are going to be open to hearing about a Savior who loves them as they are and wants a relationship with them. My dad was so impressed with this program. He said they were not told about any type of restrictions about sharing the gospel with the people they come in contact with. Congratulations, dad! We are excited to see what God has in store for you! You can read my dad's blog about CAPA here...

It was a rainy day as we were heading to Grandad's graduation!

It was only 10:30 am, so the kids were excited to eat cake after the graduation!

We headed to Uncle Julio's afterwards to celebrate! The kids love watching the tortillas being made!

You will have to read one of the following posts to understand this picture ;)

Father's Day Early With My Dad

We headed over to Grandma and Grandad's house for an early Father's Day celebration on Friday! Jeff had to work, so we went a little early to swim before dinner and he was able to get there right before we ate. I am so thankful for my dad. I really feel like we portray our heavenly Father similar to how we view our earthly father. And I am so thankful for the Godly father I have! He has always been the spiritual leader in our family. He has such a hunger for God's word (my mom does too), something I feel like I struggle with. But I know through watching my parents devotion to studying the Scriptures that I will always have the desire to grow in my knowledge of the Bible. My dad is a very strong and opinionated person, something I love about him. But he is also one of the most loving and kind people you will ever meet. So, I hope you had a wonderful father's day, dad! We love you very much!

Grandad and Gabe discussing the golf tournament on TV. Gabe thinks he is an expert on golf! He was watching Tiger on TV with Jeff and I recently and said, "Dad, Cheetah is holding the golf club wrong! He needs to hold it like this..." He proceeded to show us the correct stance ; We will work on the Tiger-Cheetah mixup!

My sister is going to be so made at me for putting up this picture! But it was so funny! I pointed the camera at her and she was telling me, "No, don't take my picture!" with her hand in front of the camera. When she realized I was going to take the picture, she stuck this pose so fast! She never takes a bad picture, so I don't know what she is worried about ;)

Happy Father's Day, guys!

We finished up the night with a few rounds of dominoes. It always takes longer playing with this group because there is at least one argument every round! Kasey made up a few of his own rules this game! But I will let it slide this time ;)
